How to add Organization shortcuts

How to add Organization shortcuts

The OMS Organization screen allows users to create reference points (shortcuts) to other positions in the organization hierarchy. These shortcuts allow position node details to be replicated as an additional node in the hierarchy tree. Users can create multiple shortcuts for a position but can only edit the position details on the original (source) position node. Shortcuts will replicate the source position node data in the Personnel Address Book.

Instructions

In order to create a position shortcut...

  1. Open the Organization tree.
  2. Select the desired position node.
  3. Drag and drop it to the desired location of the shortcut (similar to what you would do when moving an organization tree node).

  4. On the move confirmation box verify the destination then choose "Shortcut".

  5. Instead of moving the original position node a shortcut has been created.

  6. If a shortcut node is selected the user will have the option to delete it or "jump" to the original position to make edits to the position information.
