What's new in 2019.12.1

SYMC-153 Symphony Wordpress Post Import Utility

This utility takes a Wordpress API URL and imports its posts into Symphony as Stories. It lives in Conductor and imports stories into that Conductor for syndication. This utility loads all the posts into Conductor, then you have the option to filter the list and select which posts you want to import.

Click Import from Wordpress button. It should only appear at the THQ Conductor level.

Get Posts - downloads all the posts from the Wordpress API Endpoint URL you enter. Make sure the URL you use starts with https://.

Back to Stories - should clear the editor and go back to the existing stories page.

At any point after you click Get Posts you can click Stop Download on the right of the status bar to stop downloading where it currently is.

After the posts download, you get several more actions:

Clear - clears the editor and goes back to the initial screen for entering a new API Endpoint URL

Import - imports the currently selected posts

Select All - checks all the boxes next to all the posts

Unselect All - un-checks all the boxes next to all the posts

Remove Duplicates - removes any duplicate posts from the list. After you click it, you should see a status of how many posts were removed (if any), and the button will disappear

Remove Already Imported - removes any posts from the list that match the title and publish date of any existing stories. After you click it, you should see a status of how many posts were removed (if any), and the button will disappear

Selecting or unselecting posts - will update the “selected” count so you know how many are going to be imported

Once you click Import be ready to wait some more. It’s a slow process. It not only imports the posts as stories into conductor, but it downloads all the images within the posts, uploads them to Symphony servers, and replaces them within the post content. The import process will show a percentage complete.

After the import is done, it’ll clear the editor and return you to the stories page where you can edit, delete, or syndicate them.

SYMC-162 Update the Site Subscription Feature to only Use Featured Stories for the Consuming Site

This updates the Site Subscription Feature to only use featured stories for the consuming site. Previously, the system took the first 5 featured stories regardless of which site they were from.

SYME-52 Add ‘THQ’ to the list of divisions under site creation

Added “THQ” to the list of divisions you can select from when creating a site. Any sites created under THQ won't be linked to GDOS or have any site information (like address) pre-populated.
