If a record needs to have the length of service adjusted users should use the service credits option to add or remove years of service. This will allow users to easily see exactly why an officer's adjusted service date is different than their commissioning date.

Follow these steps to apply service credits:

  1. Load the person record
  2. Click on the "Service Dates" menu option
  3. Click on the "Manage Credits" link

  4. Select a "Credit Type", i.e.: "Broken Service"

    1. Each credit type will impact service time differently, refer to the related article for more information
  5. Enter the "Effective Date"

    1. This date should be the start date of the credit, not the end date

  6. Enter an amount, ONE of two options
    1. "Date Range" will calculate the time between two dates, OR

    2. "Date Values" will allow the user to enter an exact amount of time
