What is the "Person Status"?
Each record will have a "person status" value displayed in the record heading (first icon listed to the right of the record's name).
OMS uses the "person status" to know whether a record is active or inactive. While there are multiple person status's they each fall into one of those groups.
Status | |
---|---|
Active | Active |
Inactive | PTG |
Inactive | Resigned |
Inactive | Retired |
Inactive | Terminated |
There are also person status' “Relative” and “Civilian” which are defined when a record is created. These are both inactive statuses used for non-officers.
Modify Person Status
OMS uses a variety of automated processes to update the person status. For example, when someone is removed from service the person status is updated on the effective date of the change. However, there may be times where a user has to manually modify the person status on a record.
Load the desired record.
Navigate to the "Personal Information" screen.
Click the edit icon displayed next to the person status.
Select the desired person status, click "OK".
Scroll down and select "Save" at the bottom of the "Personal Information" screen.
After a few minutes, OMS will display the new person status.
In order to see the person status edit icon, the user MUST be on the personal information screen and also have the user permission to edit the person status.
