Stories are essentially blog posts that are aggregated/indexed on a "Stories" landing page.

In the backend, Stories can be previewed as they would appear on the landing page. In the Manage Stories section, they can be featured, shown/hidden, edited, or archived. When a Story is featured, it displays in a larger format with the featured image as the background. Featured Stories can be sorted and are limited to 5 Stories. Once it's been archived, a Story can be restored (unarchived), edited, or deleted permanently.
