  1. Find an officer record without an officer UNID and a current person type of Officer, Envoy, Cadet, or A/Captain

  2. Verify the warning icon is displayed next to the “ID: “ label in the person header.

  3. When the user clicks the warning icon, a dialog should display which tells the user how to create a new officer UNID regardless of user permissions.

  4. Navigate to the Personal Info page.

  5. Delete the current person type, noting the type and start date.

  6. Re-enter the same person type with the same start date.

  7. Close the person type dialog and confirm the person header is updated with the new officer UNID.

Once a record is assigned a UNID by a territory it does NOT need to be changed ever again. The UNID will follow them during their entire career regardless of territory of service or home territory changesThe IPS UNID – Unique Identification for all officers – is never changed, as it is a historical and one-time identification of where officers started their officership.
